THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
01
Fossil Hunting Permit
To keep any vertebrate fossils you find, a Florida fossil permit is required, but to keep shark teeth and eagle ray mouth plates no permit is required. The permit is $5 and lasts for a year, to apply for your permit click https://www.floridamuseum.ufl.edu/vertpaleo/amateur-collector/fossil-permit/permit-application/
03
Primitive Property
The property is primitive there are no bathrooms on site. Please make any necessary stops along the way.
02
Appropriate attire
We recommend you bring water shoes/sandals or dive booties with you. There is glass in the bottom of the river and lots of gravel. Crocs do not work well as they tend to fill with gravel a lot and are uncomfortable. We suggest wearing a upf sun shirt and shorts as you will be in the sun and river majority of the day. Bring a hat and any other attire you think would be necessary.
04
Snacks and hydration
We do not supply water or any food on the tours. Please bring any food and drinks you will want when out on the river. You will be in the sun for most of the day, so pack enough water to stay hydrated!
